Scholarly / Peer-reviewed

Peer review process

When an article is submitted to a journal for publication, the editor first sends the article to a group of experts in the field. These experts review the article and make comments and recommendations about its publication. Not all articles make it through this process. Those that do are called peer-reviewed articles and are published in a scholarly or peer-reviewed journal.
